This would be perfect with retina iPad support.

Doesnt work at all on iOS 7. Opens and then you cant touch anything. It doesnt crash, just does nothing and nothing can be tapped/moved.

I used to love this app, but it instantly crashes on my iPhone 6, and I see it hasn’t had an update since 2011. PLEASE FIX IT!

This is my favorite chess, UI is clean and nice to look at. The problem is that its not compatible anymore on os8. Please please make an update :)

Great chess game. Best looking chess game in the store.

If only it had online chess, then I could play vs other people on a beautiful board. Even email chess with just a site for connecting people who want to play would be great. The engine itself quickly destroys me even on the easiest setting. Im a 1350-1400 rated player though.

This is an app crafted with loving care. No superfluous additions or annoyances -- just chess against a seriously gifted opponent. There are the occasional subtle surprises in which the developer shows his skills (on the back of the board the gears will move from time to time; pieces will float to their starting points when a new game is selected, a few others). The squares are small, so piece selection sometimes takes a bit of effort, but this cannot be blamed on the developer but the iPhones screen size. I considered if being able to play chess remotely against other players would be an addition, but I spend so much time pressing the undo button, I realize that this is a learning tool for me, and I wouldnt change a thing. Highly recommended, worth every dollar/yen.

Please release an updated version for the new iPads retina display.

Deep Green is a stellar game, if not the best of the chess games available anywhere for not much green. If you are looking for a game with brilliant offerings, one of my favorites is the manual setup option, than search no farther. Please do yourself a favor and pay the price for this game.

First review Ive written for any app. Ive played nearly all of the chess games in the App Store and this is the only one thats remained on my iPhone. The new update is stunning. If youre looking to play chess on iOS, buy Deep Green. You wont regret it.

I bought this app back in 2008 and have LOVED it. Only thing it was missing was retina display support. And its here! This chess app in my opinion is the best out there. Ive downloaded the others with choppy movements and cut and paste design. This app has stunning coding all throughout. Very well done!
